Opal Glass Diffuser |
P/N: | OGD-OP Series |
Introduction: | Similar to ground glass, but with one surface flashed with a milky white "opal" coating to diffuse light evenly, Opal Diffusing Glass can be used to achieve a near Lambertian distribution. The level of diffusion in opal glass causes a large amount of scattering loss. |

Standard Glass Diffuser |
P/N: | OGD-GR Series |
Introduction: | Ground Glass Diffusers are comprised of high tolerance, quality ground glass making them ideal for a variety of industrial applications. The soda lime glass substrate has excellent visible transmission and is ideal for general diffusing applications. A 120-grit or 220-grit (as noted) sandblast is used to create a diffuse surface on the glass. Undergoing two orthogonal passes during this sandblast process yields even diffusion across the surface. The scattering is a compromise of low scatter loss and medium diffusion. Typical applications include use in screens, illuminator diffusion, and targets. |

Quartz Glass Diffuser |
P/N: | OQD-GR Series |
Introduction: | Ground Quartz Diffusers comprise high tolerance, quality ground quartz, making them ideal for a variety of industrial applications. The Spectrosil 055, or GE124 substrate has excellent visible transmission and is ideal for general diffusing applications. A 120-grit or 220-grit (as noted) sandblast is used to create a diffuse surface on the quartz. Undergoing two orthogonal passes during this sandblast process yields even diffusion across the surface. The scattering is a compromise of low scatter loss and medium diffusion. Typical applications include use in screens, illuminator diffusion, and targets. |
