Our absorptive neutral density (ND) filters are available with optical densities (OD) ranging from 0.04 to 5.0. Unlike their reflective, metallic counterparts, each filter is fabricated from a Schott glass substrate that has been selected for its spectrally flat absorption coefficient in the visible region of 400 - 650 nm. By varying the type and thickness of the glass used, we are able to produce the entire line of absorptive ND filters. Because of variations between different lots of glass, Photonik recommends that the user calibrate the filter in their setup before taking quantitative measurements.
Optional: SM1 mounted version available, with additional charge SGD10 for each SM1 mount(c/w SM1 retaining ring and black teflon washer) |

Ideal for Low-Power Applications
Wavelength Range: 1000 - 2600 nm
These shortpass, heat-protective filters are designed to be transmissive in the visible region, allowing for passage of an alignment beam, and absorptive in the near infrared. These filters have a relatively flat spectral response from 1000 nm - 1600 nm and are effective attenuators up to 2600 nm. They can also be used as heat absorbing filters, transmitting <2% above 4 µm.

| Introduction: | Metallized Reflective ND Filter is made of UV fused silica substrates, with very thin aluminum coating + protection layer, or Nickel coating deposited on single surface. The filter allows broadband light 200-2500nm designed to pass as specified transmission ratio, others will be reflected. Typical transmission ratios are T50:R50 and T70:R30 for protected-aluminum reflection ND filter, and T25%(OD0.6),T10%(OD1),T1%(OD2) and T0.1%(OD3) for nickel-coated reflective ND filter.
The UV fused silica substrate used in these filters exhibits high transmission and virtually no laser-induced fluorescence, as measured at 193 nm, making it an ideal choice for applications from the UV to the near IR. While the spectral range's lower limit of 200 nm is limited by the absorption of the light by the substrate, UV fused silica provides good transmission up to 2.1 µm, and thus the upper limit of 1200 nm is dependent on the increased opacity of the nickel coating. |
